SUM Guard Technology – Part 10 10

SUM Guard covers are more than just insulation.

Thanks to dedicated design solutions, they perform a range of additional functions. Meet SUM Heating Guard – covers with an integrated heating system.

✅ In addition to their insulating function, SUM Heating Guard covers provide protection against crystallisation and freezing.
✅ They are used wherever a specific temperature must be maintained.
✅ They effectively protect equipment from falling below a defined temperature threshold.

They achieve the above functions thanks to integrated heating cabling and an electronic thermostat with a power supply cable (plug & play system) 🔌.
It is also worth emphasising that the cover can be easily and quickly removed from the equipment, providing unrestricted access (e.g. during maintenance work).

The SUM Heating Guard thermal cover consists of a dimensionally tailored thermal insulation cover equipped with a quick-release buckle or Velcro fastening system. The cover can be made from various types of technical fabrics suitable for specific operating conditions – waterproof, chemical-resistant, fire-resistant, antistatic, and others.

Heating power of the SUM Heating Guard cover

The second component is an independent heating system based on industrial self-regulating heating cables mounted in a dedicated loop (webbing) system. Control is provided by a digital thermostat housed in an IP66 enclosure, mounted on the cover shell. In addition to standard basic functions, it also offers integration with local monitoring systems, alarm functions, password-protected setpoint locking, and many other features. The standard heating power of the cover is 1500 W; however, thanks to modular design solutions, it is possible to produce a system with a different output, tailored to the client’s requirements. Moreover, the modular design concept allows for very easy, non-invasive and independent servicing of both the heating system and the cover, including complete replacement of heating elements or adjustment of their power.
