History

Historia

Since 1991, SUM has been engaged in the production of specialized sewn insulation in the form of thermal insulation covers. Thanks to the exceptional versatility of this technology and extensive experience, our products are used across all branches of industry, in countless applications and material variants.

SUM is above all a reliable and trusted partner, with many years of cooperation with the most demanding clients who benefit daily from our extensive knowledge and know-how, as well as technical and engineering support.

Since 2006, SUM has also been present in Poland, where it serves as an undisputed leader and pioneer of insulation cover technology. It operates a modern machine park, which includes CNC cutting plotters, a computerized production monitoring system, and quality control systems. The company also has its own design and engineering office, where all development work is carried out in an integrated CAD/CAM environment.

SUM Poland is not only about production, but also comprehensive technical support and consultancy. An experienced engineering team is always available to the client, who can rely on appropriate technology selection, energy calculations, ROI assessments, visualisations and CAD designs, as well as remote project development using 3D scanning techniques, among many other services.

The SUM Poland team, among other achievements, co-created the new standard PN-B-20106:2020-12 “Thermal insulation of building equipment and industrial installations – Methods for determining the surface area of insulation” and conducts its own material and technological research within R&D projects. This has led to the development of solutions such as the SUM Fire Guard and SUM Heating Guard series, as well as sound-absorbing thermal insulation technology.

SUM Poland is a member of the Chamber of Commerce for Energy and Environmental Protection, the Polish Association of Industrial Insulation Contractors, and the Polish-Canadian Chamber of Commerce.

COMPETENCES AND EXPERIENCE – 30 years of experience in removable thermal insulation for valves, installations, and industrial equipment worldwide – from Canadian oil refineries, through turbines in Mexico and wellheads in Australia, to offshore drilling platforms in the Atlantic Ocean.
QUALITY AND PRECISION – we design using the latest CAD/CAM software and manufacture using a modern machine park (CNC cutting and marking plotters, advanced industrial sewing machines, a fully automated micro-impact marking system, and many others), which guarantees perfect fitting of all components.
