In our blog, we present the energy savings achieved through the installation of thermal insulation covers on valves and fittings; however, this is not their only advantage. A key benefit is workplace safety – protection of employees against burns.
In many production facilities where we install SUM Guard covers, technical equipment and installations operate at high temperatures. This is particularly the case in processing industries, where injection moulding machines, presses, heaters, and extruder heads operate as part of processes carried out under very high thermal conditions. In such environments, there is a significant risk of accidental burns.

How do we design thermal insulation covers to achieve a safe surface temperature of up to 40°C when the equipment itself reaches operating temperatures of 150–180°C?

Proper selection of insulation type and thickness ensures that the surface temperature of the cover can be reduced to safe levels required by the client and occupational health and safety regulations, regardless of the operating parameters of the installation.

SUM Guard covers provide effective protection for workers against burns. Hot components are isolated from the environment, eliminating the risk of accidental burns.
