What information is required to prepare a preliminary quotation?

What questions can we ask a client who contacts us regarding a preliminary quotation?
Interested parties usually already have a list of valves or equipment they wish to insulate, including their names. However, in order to prepare an accurate and well-tailored quotation, we require a few additional details:

  • Diameter
  • Length
  • Operating temperature

Additional questions may concern specific operating conditions, such as:

  • Is the equipment located in an explosion hazard area?
  • Is the installation located in close proximity to products manufactured under hygienic conditions?
  • Does the client require reduction of noise emitted by the given machine?
  • Should the covers be equipped with a heating system to maintain a constant medium temperature in the insulated equipment?

After such a “technical interview”, depending on the conditions present at a given facility, the appropriate insulation thickness and type of fabrics are selected.

If the client is interested in placing an order, we of course verify the provided information during on-site measurements at the facility.
