High temperatures on equipment always mean a short payback period for investment in thermal insulation covers. This is particularly true in the case of extruders and injection moulding machine heaters. How do we know this? After installing SUM Guard covers, customers take their own measurements and share their findings with us:
- an immediate reduction in electricity consumption (especially during equipment start-up)
- pełne wykorzystanie całej zużywanej energii w procesie produkcyjnym
We advise our customers that, after installing covers on injection moulding machine heaters, they should carry out a re-adaptation of the heaters before resuming normal operation. The covers change the thermodynamic conditions of the system, and the machine control system must supply less energy to achieve the same effect.
The glass fibre fabric used in SUM Guard covers for high-temperature applications, finished with TG high-temperature treatment, is capable of continuous operation at 650–700°C.
What is an additional benefit, beyond the economic one, of using covers on extruders and heaters? It is the improvement of workplace safety for production staff by eliminating the risk of burns.
All materials used in our SUM Guard covers are classified as non-combustible (Euroclass A1).
