It has been a long time since we last showed our covers installed outside a building. As seen in the attached image, the installation is only partially protected by walls. The covers are therefore exposed to sunlight, wind, rain, snow and temperature fluctuations. The insulated valves operate in demanding weather conditions and require durable, reliable solutions.

Beneath the box-shaped covers are valves ranging from DN 50 to DN 250. As is no longer visible, heating cables are installed inside the covers to maintain a constant temperature of the medium flowing through the installation.

The covers also protect the equipment itself – in this case, the valves – from the adverse effects of weather conditions. They are not exposed to rain (and therefore corrosion), which translates into easier operation of the valves.
Maintenance teams have certainly encountered situations where, in the event of a failure, it was difficult to open or close a frozen or seized handwheel.

In summary:

SUM Guard covers are resistant to UV radiation and weather conditions. They protect the insulated equipment while maintaining easy access for inspection when required.
