Measurement and selection of technology
In reality, the design of our SUM Guard thermal insulation covers begins already at the measurement stage. Our technicians collect as much data as possible, which is then passed on to the designers.
Our technical specialists operate much like intelligence analysts. They must understand the client’s requirements, the processes occurring within and around the insulated equipment, and on this basis develop the design and select the appropriate technology.
One of the key questions they must ask is: what is the purpose of the insulation? Is it intended for energy savings, freeze protection, noise reduction, or personnel protection against accidental burns? Of course, it may be a combination of several factors, depending on the specific production facility.
The technicians also assess the operating conditions of the equipment, such as the type of medium inside, ambient temperature, chemical factors – meaning what substances the cover may be exposed to – as well as the need for inspection windows or access flaps and other factors that must be taken into account when selecting the manufacturing technology.
Measurements must also include additional elements such as sensors, platforms, supports, bolts and other details. The technicians also aim to anticipate any potential issues related to the use of the cover.

After all the information has been collected and technical drawings prepared, the entire documentation is passed to our design team. The designers adapt the cover structure to the individual dimensions and configuration of the insulated equipment.
The team aims to develop a solution that does not create any operational or technological issues and can be installed conveniently and without difficulty.
The designers are fully aware that the effectiveness and performance of SUM Guard covers depend on ensuring a tight, close, in other words, properly fitted design. They also place great emphasis on the correct marking of all components of the designed cover.
SUM Guard covers are designed using the latest CAD/CAM software.
