Energy efficiency classes according to the German VDI 4610 standard

Given the current rise in energy and fuel prices, we encourage you to pay attention to the energy efficiency of your companies.
➡️ Among the most effective measures aimed at improving it is the reduction of heat losses in industrial and power installations. In this context, the installation of thermal insulation covers should be treated as an investment that delivers tangible benefits within a relatively short period, including financial gains. There is no single, universally accepted method for assessing energy efficiency.

The Germans have taken an interesting and comprehensive approach to this issue. Any industrial installation is assessed using the VDI 4610 standard, taking into account the following criteria:
◼️ insulation thickness,
◼️ quality of the thermal insulation system workmanship,
◼️ method of eliminating thermal bridges.
The German VDI 4610 standard distinguishes 7 energy efficiency classes, from A to G.
A indicates that all components have been properly insulated, while G indicates either no insulation or insufficient insulation of components.
A is the highest class, associated with the lowest heat losses; it is also referred to as the “green class”.
