When considering content for a new blog post, a photo of covers installed on a mould caught our attention. What is unusual about this image? The sunshine! It is clear that our technicians were working on a warm, sunny day. We are now somewhat missing moments like these.
The automotive parts manufacturer did not wait until autumn to install insulation on its forming equipment; instead, it took care earlier to protect its machinery, including aluminium moulds.
The operating temperature of the mould shown in the photograph is approximately 200°C. Thanks to our SUM Guard covers, heat is retained inside, which reduces the heating demand of the equipment. As a result, the amount of energy required to reach and maintain the target temperature is reduced.

Interestingly, the equipment is mobile and multi-segmented, and individual sections periodically lift, changing their position relative to one another. All these factors were taken into account during the design of the covers. For us, it’s a straightforward task.
