SUM Antistatic Guard
The SUM Poland antistatic cover (EX), thanks to carefully selected materials, can be used on installations, valves and fittings, and equipment operating in explosive atmospheres, at temperatures ranging from -40°C to +315°C.

SUM Antistatic Guard covers are manufactured using PTFE-coated glass fibre fabric with a surface resistivity of 3×10⁵ Ω. The use of seams made with metallic thread with a stainless steel core, as well as stainless steel fixing pins connecting both (outer and inner) fabric layers, ensures full continuity of charge dissipation.
The grounding of the cover, i.e. the path for dissipating electrostatic charges from its surface, may be provided by the equipment on which the covers are installed.
The following conditions must then be met:
- the equipment is made of conductive materials,
- the equipment is equipped with its own grounding system,
- there are accessible contact points between the equipment and the covers, where the equipment surface is not covered with protective layers or contaminants that could prevent the free flow of charges.

Installations and equipment in the chemical and petrochemical industries
SUM Antistatic Guard covers are ideally suited for installations and equipment in the chemical and petrochemical industries, where they are used, among other applications, for the insulation of:
✔ valves and piping equipment,
✔ wellheads in oil and gas fields,
✔ loading arms,
✔ exchanger heads, ejectors, etc.
