SUM Guard thermal insulation covers are flexible, removable thermal insulation solutions made of technical fabrics and insulating mats. Their primary function, like any insulation, is to reduce heat loss from equipment as well as to protect the process medium (resin, steam, oil, etc.) from excessive overheating or cooling.
The covers can be used outdoors, where they are exposed to various weather conditions, including low temperatures. In such cases, SUM Heating Guard covers are used—featuring an integrated heating system with active protection against crystallisation and freezing.
SUM Anti-freeze Guard covers have been designed to meet the specific requirements of industrial refrigeration systems such as ammonia, glycol, or chilled water circuits.
The high temperature resistance of SUM Exhaust Guard covers in the range of 450°C–1000°C is achieved through the use of a wide range of reinforced glass fabrics such as G2, TG, HT, as well as silicate and ceramic fabrics.
