Can thermal insulation covers be used outdoors?

PTFE (Teflon) coatings applied to fabrics used in SUM Guard thermal insulation covers exhibit very high resistance to UV radiation. As a result, glass fabrics coated with PTFE, including those in EX versions, can be safely used in outdoor environments.

The images show SUM Antistatic Guard covers installed on a natural gas wellhead. This insulation solution is designed for installation in explosion-hazard areas and is characterised by high antistatic performance.
The fabric used in the manufacture of this type of cover is resistant to mould and rot, and demonstrates exceptional resistance to both high and low temperatures (−40°C to 315°C), as well as to chemical agents such as acids, alkalis, solvents and alcohols. SUM Antistatic Guard covers are non-flammable, water-resistant, and easy to clean, as dirt and dust do not adhere to their surface.
