Manufacturing of SUM Guard thermal insulation cover varies depending on its application. The material of the inner and outer jacket is selected individually by us according to the temperature and operating conditions of the equipment. A wide range of glass and silicate fabrics is available in various impregnation versions and surface coatings, including silicone, PTFE, PU, ALU, etc.
The inner part of the cover (1), which is in direct contact with equipment or technical installations generating heat, is typically made of a material with higher resistance to elevated temperatures.
The outer material (4), on the other hand, should provide resistance to weather conditions as well as to most commonly encountered industrial chemicals (oils, greases, water, etc.).
As the insulating fill (2) of the cover, we most commonly use mechanically needled E-glass fibreglass non-woven material.
Fastening and closure system (3) – industrial hook-and-loop fasteners (including high-temperature versions), straps with stainless steel buckles (standard), drawstrings, stainless steel hooks, etc.
Nameplate (5) – each cover is assigned a unique serial number, and its design is stored indefinitely in the SUM database.
All fittings (6) in every version of the SUM Guard cover are made of stainless steel.
Extremely strong seams made with stainless steel threads braided with Kevlar® ensure long service life and thermal resistance.
