Filter separators

An explosion-hazard area requires the application of appropriate safety measures. Equipment and materials compliant with ATEX zone technical requirements are properly marked with the “EX” symbol.

SUM Antistatic Guard covers are designed for installation in explosion-hazard zones.

The outer jacket is made from a specialist glass fibre fabric coated with conductive PTFE (Teflon), and the structural elements used ensure that the covers are capable of dissipating electrostatic charges across their entire surface.

For a client in the petrochemical industry, insulation covers were manufactured for filter separators. Filter separators are high-pressure, welded steel pressure vessels. These units utilise the kinetic energy of the gas stream being treated.
Contaminated gas is fed into the filter separator, where it passes through a filter medium on which water droplets condense. The cleaned gas is then routed for further processing, while the separated water is discharged to a degasser and a produced water tank.

SUM Antistatic Guard covers perform exceptionally well on installations and equipment operating in ATEX zones within the chemical and petrochemical industries.
