Insulation filling in SUM GUARD covers

Why do we use mechanically needled glass fibre mat (E-Glass) instead of mineral wool in our covers? The answer is simple. In the production of our SUM GUARD covers, we use only high-quality components, and needle-punched glass fibre mat is one of them.

Mechanically needled glass fibre (E-Glass), unlike standard mineral wool, is characterised by:

  • high density: 130–180 kg/m³
  • water resistance – even after complete saturation, it regains 100% of its insulating properties once dried
  • durability and mechanical integrity – it does not deform under bending and does not delaminate or disintegrate

The advantages of this fibre mat include excellent thermal insulation, sound absorption, resistance to biological contamination (bacteria, fungi, mould), as well as resistance to ageing processes (in particular biological and light-induced degradation).

Our attention to every component of the cover ensures a high-quality product.
