SUM covers can be found in many parts of Europe, North America and South America. It is in the latter continent, specifically in Brazil, that there is a production facility for which we designed and manufactured covers from the SUM Chemical Guard range.

Our team of engineers has once again successfully delivered a complete project remotely, based on files and information provided by the client. All design and engineering work was carried out in an integrated CAD-CAM environment.

SKID system

What was the purpose of the SUM Guard covers? The client’s priority was to protect the fittings and reduce energy losses on two modular process installations in skid systems (SKID units).

What is a modular process skid? It is a technological system mounted on a frame that enables the entire unit to be easily transported. A single skid can contain a complete process installation. It is also possible to combine multiple process skids to create larger systems. In this way, an entire mobile production plant can even be formed.
Thanks to skid-based systems, expensive storage tanks, pressure vessels and heat exchangers can be mounted on elevated structures, thereby helping to prevent potential failures caused by high temperatures or chemical воздейств.

Thus, our client, equipped with such modular process skids and reusable thermal insulation covers tailored to the installation, can relocate production to any chosen location at any time without difficulty.
